At SOEA, collaboration is central to our approach. We work through partnerships with communities, researchers, innovators, development organizations, governments, and global networks.
Transforming climate resilience requires collaboration, innovation, and community ownership. Square One Eco Africa positions itself as a catalytic platform for partners seeking practical, scalable, and community-driven climate solutions across Africa’s most vulnerable regions. By partnering with SOEA, institutions and organizations gain access to a collaborative ecosystem that combines community engagement, climate innovation, and strategic storytelling to generate measurable and replicable impact.
We are a registered Civil Society Organisation headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, with active and planned programming across ASAL communities in East and Central Africa and West Africa.
"SOEA believes Africa’s greatest climate innovations already exist within its communities. What is needed are the partnerships, systems, and investments that allow those solutions to grow, replicate, and influence global climate action."
Our Partnership VisionOur programs are co-designed directly with frontline communities, ensuring that solutions respond to real needs while building local ownership and long-term sustainability.
SOEA works across interconnected climate and development sectors including climate-smart agriculture, renewable energy, digital innovation, and coastal resilience, creating holistic solutions rather than isolated interventions.
Through Eco-Tech Innovation Hubs, we introduce accessible digital tools, early warning systems, and climate technologies that strengthen resilience and economic opportunity for youth and communities.
We amplify community innovations through storytelling and advocacy, transforming local experiences into knowledge products that influence policy, inspire replication, and attract investment.
Every initiative we develop includes clear sustainability pathways, transition strategies, and exit frameworks that enable communities to continue adapting, financing, and expanding climate solutions beyond project cycles.
We offer structured partnership frameworks tailored to the scale of engagement and the nature of the collaboration — from community-level support to flagship institutional co-investment.
We are grateful to the institutions and networks that have committed to advancing climate resilience and food security alongside us.
Partnerships are focused across our three integrated pillars — on-ground sustainability, technology, and storytelling — and in the geographies where our communities are.
Supporting smallholder farmers in ASAL regions with climate-resilient agriculture, renewable energy access, and community-led adaptation strategies across Kenya, Ethiopia, DR Congo, Malawi, and Senegal.
Building digital tools that put monitoring data and programme evidence directly in community hands — enabling real-time accountability, adaptive management, and scalable replication of what works.
Amplifying authentic community voices to attract investment, influence national and regional climate policy, and inspire replication across Sub-Saharan Africa's most climate-vulnerable regions.
